Boring Friday much?

So it's a boring lonely friday night with no roommates....
Nah, it's not that boring, I have lots of movies and knitting and reading and snacks. =] yay homework tomorrow. def. tomorrow...
so one funny thing... my movie list to get from the library today- began with Breakfast at Tiffany's and included Die Hard, Princess Bride, Beverly Hills Cop and I also ended up with Batman Begins and Robin Hood Men in Tights.... man, I'm weird but it's fun, I like weird. lol

Soooo.... time for a lot of random stuff in a boring friday blog right?
I made this. A roommate found this thing online about making coasters from folded up and rolled magazine pages. I took that idea and made it a broach. yay...

OMG best present ever!!! (well recently... I get lost of good presents... not bragging...that sounds braggy but I just have awesome ppl in my life that love me and get me good presents.... lol well...enough of that... =] Thanks dad

Random -wednesday -- 10-26-2011

Ever given your self a lecture? Like if you were to give yourself a pep talk except you are fussing at your self. haha I did that today. and the way I did was sooo funny. It was like I was a soldier (I was smiling and being silly because of a book I read. I was also at work. Don't worry, there was nothing to do.) In my head I go wipe that stupid smile off your face and get back to work. hahaha it was really funny because then I pictured my self in a line up of soldiers and I stiffened my back and frowned like I meant it. (in real life though I really did stop with the stupid smile) HAHA so funny where my head goes when i'm bored with nothing to do but think. I have another funny being bored story but I'll save that for another time ;)

Get Some!!

Get Some.

Get what??
(my eye looks creepy)
Yes, get some. This phrase has some bad connotations in some circles. But... from hanging out with my brother and his friends this summer I really like the way they use it. In any situation this phrase is quite encouraging. =]
I'm working on my homework... Yeah get some
I'm so winning this video game... Get some
(dance circle) ... get some!!
This needs to be a Get Some kinda week in all aspects. I have a lot to do for homework, laundry, work, etc... and I need to do all of this the best I can.
(I've written some so much that s-o-m-e no longer looks like the correct spelling)
(and I'm tired so idk how much of this makes sense) =]

~so remember Get Some this week!!

Take note young guys...

so today...I was carrying a box/crate thing and a guy (older, 50ish) was going to open the door for me but I said I was going to the next door so he offered to open that one but it was propped open. Well that was very nice of him rarely do you get the door opened much less offered to go out of their way to open a different door. But, he didn't stop there, when the other was already open he asked if there were any other doors on my way that he could help me with... Wow... you young guys out there... take note. Seriously, very nice guy def. made my day. To put what he did in modern terms... swag. That guy def. has swag. haha

--Thank you swaggful older nice guy.

Nail polish-Work-Homework- w/e

Blogging... if I were to do this for real, all the time... I'd need to set aside time to do it as well as, a book of ideas.I had like three different ideas since my last blog but didn't have time to write them down so... I forget... no idea what I was going to say. Lame.
Anyways, this week has been good. Not that much homework. Picked up some hours at work therefore, better pay check. I can't wait, I'm planning a fall break trip and taking some friends home with me. yay...
So I bought new nail polish because it was only $2 on sale at ulta.and I have been wanting a nice gray and a similar green-y color... my sister has a similar color... but w/e I wanted to have this one on now

Not the best pic to see the colors. w/e... so, yes, my shirt says we're tight like spandex. haha it was my brothers middle school show choir shirt. well, that's all for now folks.
peace
have a good almost weekend =]

Long Live Graffiti

Went out walking today with a roommate. Walked under a bridge (the path went that way) and there was so much graffiti. Nothing ridiculous just stuff. There is so many emotions expressed in graffiti under a bridge. Love, Hate, Peace, just to name a few. Yeah, I know graffiti is not right but some is just amazing. Some is such art and others just express so much emotion. I always wonder who it is doing the graffiti, high school kids?? Idk, that's always my first guess because (in my opinion) they are rebellious emotional wrecks lol. Well, anyways, here are some pictures I took...

 cute...heart

Give peace a chance...

Okay???

Wow...

my conclusion--graffiti- defacing property, but beautiful.
AND (random) watching the food channel late at night is bad. diners drive-ins and dives is super fabulous... but now all I can think of is bacon, meatloaf, tacos, maple bacon donuts, pulled pork, etc etc etc... and really I should just go to bed... mmmm food!!!!

Night :)
--topping anything with bacon makes it better.

mechanic and anti-fad - ness

2 things...
1.I'm pretty much a mechanic.... =]
My awesome dad does all my car work. But when I live 6 hrs away, he can't. So far this year I have changed a tire and put in transmission fluid. (noticed it was running kinda jumpy. checked it. called dad. added some trans. fluid.) haha yay. and the tire, well it was flat (had a nail in it) put on the spare and took it to the tire place to have it fixed. lol

2  --Feathers--
So, who has seen those feathers in peoples hair?? Ya know, they start with like high class fashionistas, then the people that follow the classy fashionistas, then they get real big, high school and college girls everywhere have them, and now we are even down to elementary girls having feathers in their hair. I really like it and think they are a great way to add pizzaz without dying your hair. My sisters and I bought some and did it ourselves last spring. I just think it is crazy and makes them so much less awesome when Everyone has some. (even driving through podunk Missouri we saw a sign at a home beauty shop for "feather extensions, from New York" lol it's just no longer unique and interesting. oh well, We did it before it was cool. haha

Lazy college Saturday ... 9-10-11

Saturdays are for sleeping in. Saturdays are for being lazy. Saturdays are for friends. Saturdays are awesome.

Me and the roommate chilling lazily on a Saturday. But, we really weren't lazy all day. We walked to the library and got some movies. Now, we are just sitting around being lazy and watching movies.

And at the library I got a captain America comic!! hehe
I'm not a comic book reader but we will see. I like captain America. I like superhero movies.

Sunday tomorrow... Have a lovely less lazy day. =]

You Might be a Redneck if.....

You might be a redneck if your wife's earrings double as fishing lures.
                                -Jeff Foxworthy
My dad told me this joke some time ago. I thought it was completely HILARIOUS!!!

So one Christmas he made me fishing lure earrings. He just took off the hook and put on an earring thing. I have poppers, rooster tails and these!! =]

I am pretty much survivor woman... if I get stranded somewhere, I can go fishing and have food... lol

Yay fishing lure earrings.

Peace out and happy fishing...???
(I want to actually go fishing now)

Nails!!!

SOOO.... I love painting nails. And I find 3D nail art super fabulous. So, I try it to do something fancy on my nails. I have once before too. This time they got a little too busy. I should have stuck with black/silver. But I decided to add pink. and that was just too much. but oh well i'll leave them for a few days.(sorry, pics from the web cam so they aren't very good)
right hand. the thumb is my favorite.

left- i like the ring finger. simple.

I used some pink from mary kay
suzi skies in the pyrenees by opi
silver shatter by opi
some gliter, super glue and shiny things =]
The worst part is that they get caught on things. and it Hurts!! pulling on the nail and w/e aahh
Oh and the most interesting part of this evening was, not only doing my nails but doing them while watching Die Hard. haha
OH AND...
I bought a violet.
I really wanted a bonsai tree but I couldn't find one I liked.
so I got a violet.
Violets make me think of my great grandma, and boxcar children, and Willy Wonka.

Hope Saturday was great and have a wonderful Sunday.

Today 9-2-2011

Friday- Dress up day. Haha 1. because we can. 2. because it was crazy hot for september.
The picture isn't very good but had to take it quick.

That's about all.

My Day... 9-1-2011

MMM... Coffee. In my Rock and Roll hall of fame cup!!
One of my favorites =]
I love interesting coffee cups.

Straightened my hair today. Just had a little extra time. Straight hair is difficult. Mine is always getting super tangled. (speaking of tangled... i love that movie) Curly hair is easier. lol Now, my bangs are getting pretty long. I'm not sure if I want to let them keep growing or cut them? The past few years I've been on a bang cutting spree. lol ... we'll see.
Oh, and classes were fine. Lots to do. Lots to organize this weekend.
Happy First Day of September  =D

Last First day of Class...

I'm a senior in college... last first day of class... =] (kinda. there's next semester and w/e)
The worst thing about classes starting today was the realization that pleasure reading is over!! Hopefully I can finish my book and maybe the series (one more book) just on weekends... ugh...

Now... on to scheduleing my time. homework. work. workout. clean room/house. read-bible and fun books (not implying the bible isn't fun but... ya know) =]. movies. and w/e else happens to come up (such as concert with my graduation buddy) yep... lets figure out something so nothing gets left out... hmmm

Classes were good. Nothing too exciting. They are going to be fun, interesting and hard. Lots of practicums.

Other news in my life... not to complain but, wisdom teeth are lame. Mine are coming in (well one is, it has been working on it for the past 6 months or so lol) still not much progress, but it sure makes your mouth sore.

Sunday, August 28, 2011

That's what I love about Sundays...

I had a great weekend. I saw my family and some old friends. Got  to hear my dad preach today. I love him preaching, and telling our story of Cleveland. Then got some chow!! Sunday BBQ's are awesome. =] (heard this song when I got in the car... I really do  love Sundays-- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pm3aCyRD3Vg )

Now, I'm all melancholy because the family is gone, won't see them for awhile and well...w/e

Classes start tomorrow. Let the work begin. Senior year... I'm excited to to be done but not looking forward to all the work. but... gotta put in the work...

[and there was something else I was going to say...and forgot... haha]

Coffee!!

Nothing like your favorite mug to have some tasty french press coffee   (if you don't know what french press is -->  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_press)  out of in the morning.
So there you go, that's the start of my day. Working and cleaning to do later. But for now, Coffee!!

Shipshape'N Bristol Fashion
This is one of my dad's coffee mugs from the Navy. And I  Love it. lol
So I asked if I could take it to school with me. of course he said yes. =]
Besides that it is Navy, I just like interesting coffee mugs.

Have a nice day and I hope you got your caffeine in this morning.

Tuesday, August 23, 2011

Seals are pretty much the equivalent of Batman but military, not vigilanty.

So this blog is going to be about... Everything. Haha
a. just read another good book
b. I love the military (esp. Navy)
c. working out

a. I just read True Devotion the first in the series Uncommon Heroes by Dee Henderson. It was really good. Yep it was a cute silly love story, BUT... it also had a really cool plot including arms dealers and Navy Seals!! oh yeah. Great book, I can't wait to start the next one.

b. Yes, just finished that great book, all about Navy Seals. Oh My... My dad was in the Navy as was my grandpa and his brothers but it must really be in your blood bc it wasn't like it was all we talked about and did and my dad got out when I was like 6-7 but still I Love it. All things Navy related. I've even considered joining... but... idk, I don't think that is what God has for me right now. Anyways...

c. so reading this book with the seals and it just gives pieces of huge work outs they do to be ready and then the mission its self is so taxing... I just felt lazy and fat reading about that so... I decided to work out today. haha yep go running/walking. I didn't do much but I did something and felt a little less lazy. Maybe that is a good reason for not joining... boot camp would be .... crazy.

Other than that... not much going on here at school... classes don't start till Monday. can't wait to start the next book. (the chick is a naval aviator....ahhh she's a beast. and I bet they will fall in love and live happily ever after. well after fighting the bad guys)

haha way too long of a blog about nothing.
--smooth sailing

Friday Friday gotta get down on.... NO!!

Ok, yes my awesome roommate Marta came and hung out for awhile. But... now I'm bored and I think that this is going to be an evening of ADD. I have a book, nail painting, snacks, painting, list making, knitting and cleaning all as possibilties to entertain myself this evening, oh while watching a movie!! =] haha  I know... I go a little crazy when I'm bored and in an apartment alone. (oooo I like the sound of that, Apartment... oh yeah. senior year of college baby) =D well peace out and to you...
I hope your friday is more eventful.

p.s. I've read like 8 or so books since the last book post... but just haven't gotten around to bolgging any thing about them. and prolly won't because nobody really reads this lol =]

books books books

Since the last post I have read 2 more books.-bringing my grand total of summer 2011 reading, to 6 books!-
Fancy Pants by: Cathy Marie Hake
Measure of a Lady by: Deeanne Gist

Fancy pants was a really cute story and really funny at times. Loved it.
Measure of a Lady was also really good. I got annoyed at the main character's single mindedness and ignorance but it all worked out in the end. (as it always does)

Both were very good. Both were chick flicks, romantic silly stories where the super fabulous guy always gets his amazing girl. I tore through each in less than 3 days. I love these easy read christian-romance books but sometimes....  sometimes it's just too much. lol
-My roommates will tell you, of the bunch of us, I'm the cynic -
These books can make a young lady dream up a huge ridiculous tale of her own that is scarcely distinguishable from the story she just read and it is nice for a time then... I just turn into a cynic. Yes, the story is nice but it isn't real life. It's a story. Silly fluff that's all. Too bad bc that was a nice story. lol
Now onto something a bit less.... fluff.... hmmm.... I'd say something classic something like... Shakespeare but that isn't much better dang Romeo and Juliet....

Happy reading

Summer Reading List

So do you remember from childhood when your mom would take you to the library in summer and you would get like a reading list of books for your age and reading level and a "cool" book mark. Yes, well those days are over and I don't really mind. I never read but 2-3 books on that list all summer. I am NOT a reader. Even if I find a decent book that I mostly like it takes me forever to read, I am a slow reader and picky. I only like really interesting things that grab your attention right off the bat. That being said, I have read 4 books already this summer and it is just the end of June. =] I'll tell you what I've read and try to make a list of more, to keep this reading going.

Brisingr- the third book in the Inheritance cycle(eragon, eldest, brisingr, inheritance). It's about dragons and magic and I did not think I would like it. My sister had me start reading and I loved them. (you will notice, my sister is quite the reader and suggests all the books I read) I have to wait until November or something for the 4th book. I was like half way through this book but I just don't have time when I am at school to read as much as I do during the summer.

The Northern Lights Series-
(suggested by sister) These are all really great romance-ships/captains/pirates-christian-immigration-farming-community-family-friendship-marriage-babies-death-etc.kinda books (lol just listed main themes or w/e) I really liked them. the catch... it is pretty much a chick flick minus cinematography = a book. lol def chick flick books.
The Captain's Bride- so good!!
Deep Harbor- fabulous!!
Midnight Sun- awesome!!

now, book list. what to read next? suggestions are welcome!!
.....         ...   .........   ???
umm... i really don't know. sooo i'll get back to you with what is next. lol
peace and happy reading

Words of Wisdom:

Let it be.

Seems like a somewhat passive way to live but I think sometimes this is the best solution.
Try it. Nothing works all the time but some things work sometimes. ....

and I leave you with.... Let it be, there will be an answer, let it be let it be....

Today 4-29-2011

In case you wanted to know here is an overview of my day:
Last day of class for my junior year. finals left then i'm done. very exciting. =]
so let's see... today, i went to class. worked on homework. ate lunch went to a meeting w/ a prof. painted outside. ate dinner. went to work... yep so interesting huh. aren't you glad you now know.

other peices of my day... 1. my feet hurt. lol i have almost flat feet. nearly no arch and so shoes with any sort of arch hurt my feet. i wore my vans today. i don't usually wear them. for some reason after like 2 hours my feet were killing me. oh duh, they have a big arch (well to my feet it was big) haha sooo i changed into chucks =]
2. I tried a new braided hair do. hahaha didn't work so well. my hair is a bit frizzy right now. need a trim and a deep condition then maybe try again. lol

thats really all ---

I'm Sorry.

To all my former teachers, I apologize. I do not claim to be an amazing or perfect teacher. I have yet to even student teach. But, as I learn more about teaching I am critiquing you. Every lesson you taught and differentiated, or not. Every disciplinary problem you took care of or didn't. Every project, every test... I am sorry for all the critiquing but just think of it as really you are teaching me, what to do or what not to. and I thank you for that. So really I suppose this is both an apology and a thank you. take it as you will.
Regardless I applaud you all and hope to be half what you are...(ok really I hope to be twice what you are. but that isn't the expression. and that only applies to some)

-peace-

are you thankful? choosing joy??

nothing insight just informing you of the lameness of IN

I got a week in Cleveland (spring break) and I can't wait to be back. I detest Indiana right now because I want to be home so bad. However, when I was driving back to school IN greeted me with a lovely sunset, that was nice. But not sufficient to cover the rest of the lameness.... most of all, Tswift playing 90% of the time in the bathroom... really?? people like her enough to listen to her constantly?? I mean it isn't even a mixed country CD or something, I could dig that. other lame things about Anderson: Food, lack of Hood, lack of good shopping close, lack of my family, lots of work, little time. yep lame I know.

yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away...
oh I believe in yesterday.

Is leather coming back?

I wore my $5 pleather jacket from Marc's (that is like a big lots/Deals for all my non Buckeye friends). It is beautiful outside so I wanted to wear a light jacket. I got to class and sat down. Two more girls walk in with leather jackets on. A guy behind me says, "Is leather coming back?" and the girl next to him (no leather jacket on) says I guess so. haha I wanted to say, did you guys not see the January issue of INSTYLE? however I wasn't sure if that was the right issue so I said nothing. Really though, I don't think a leather jacket is ever not "in", how can it come back if it was never out.
I was at a party, and I saw a guy with a leather jacket, and I thought, 'That's cool'. Then I saw a guy with a leather vest and I thought, 'That's not cool'. It was then that I realized what coolness is all about... leather sleeves.

The Beatles

It's been a hard day's night, act naturally. Any time at all, ask me why, baby it's you. Because Carol, we're back in the U.S.S.R. Come and get it. Come and dig it. Dig a pony. Dear Prudence, don't bother me. Dizzy Miss Lizzy, do you want to know a secret? Eleanor Rigby says, Everybody's got something to hide except me and my monkey. Flying from a window. Free as a bird. Fixing a hole for no one. Girl, get back. Help her majesty, Here comes the sun!! Here there and everywhere. Hey Jude, how do you do it? Hold me tight, honey pie, I am the walrus. Let it be, I'll cry instead, like dreamers do. I'm a loser. Martha my dear, have you seen that Lucy in the sky with dimonds? Two of us watching rainbows. Yes it isYesterday.

P.S. I love you

Everything in alternating blue and fushia is the title to a beatles song, or from a solo artist that came from the beatles  (Lennon, McCartney), or a song they sang as a cover of someone else. No, I have not listened to all of them unfortunately. Yes, I cheated - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_The_Beatles_songs . and  I know, it's wikipedia most likely something is wrong. lol it was fun regardless.
*don't think of it as a paragraph bc it doesnt make sense, think in a sentence, sometimes 2 together.

Room = Distractability. Library= Not?

In the library doing homework because I'm such a good student. haha or that I am very distractable. I have to do a lesson for my music ed class and I am not good enough at music to be able to sing or play or even keep a steady beat by my self. So I think I'm going to .... idk  yet. I have half a mind to just turn on Surfin USA and teach them to hand jive. Lol regardless, I am def. in a Beach Boys mood right now. maybe it's because winter has returned and I'd rather be in CA haha

If everybody had an ocean, across the USA Then everybody'd be surfin' Like Californ-i-a You'd seem 'em wearing their baggies Huarachi sandals too A bushy bushy blonde hairdo
Surfin' U.S.A.  <3

Operation Professional - Success-

Went to Casleton mall today. On a mission to get a suit. Well before we get to shopping part listen to this.... Driving to Casleton I passed 3 semis pulling fair rides!! How fun, except it's February, fair in Feb.?? Anyways, first, I prayed. It's amazing that God cares about what I want/need. He totally provided. I went into this open minded but knowing what I wanted. (if that makes sense) and tried on multiple kinds of suits from different stores. I ended up going back to the very first one, from JC Pennys. lol Of course back to the first. So, the miracle- I planned to spend about $150. Choose the JC Penny suit estimated $100. So I looked at tops too because the suit wasn't super expensive. I found this lovely royal blue top...$2.97. yep awesome. had to get it.  I go to check out, the pants ring up 20 and the jacket 31. AND... because I spent over $50 they had a coupon for $10 off. WOW thanks God awesome!!
Since I spent less than expected I went looking for accessories. Got a nice necklace and some tank tops. Nice tank tops because finally at 20 years old I have figured out that I cannot wear wife beaters forever or with...well a lot of things actually.

My camera has decided to start being dumb. It would shut off every 2-3 pictures so i didn't really get very good ones, but, here is the suit. a heather gray pant suit. =]

Operation Professional *part 1*

SUIT UP!
Yes, I will soon be interviewing for student teaching and soon after I will be entering the professional world. The real world. I'll be heading to the salt mine everyday as is the generally accepted practice in our society. BUT, before that can go down I must pass a test, the oh so dreaded Interview... dun Dun DUN!!! I am determined to make it past this terrible step and look fabulous at the same time. I'm on a mission to get a suit. A nice professional one that is still fun enough I don't look like the mother of the bride at a wedding. And without having to sell my kidneys on the black market to get it. (I like my kidneys, and idk how to get to the black market)
So, tomorrow begins day one of my search. We will see what the mall has in store for me. (pun intended)

A Scientific Observation

Ok, lets say there is this big group of people and they all like hanging out at this one place called.... place 1. They all mostly got along but as is with all people there are tiffs and they decide to go their separate ways. Some stay at place 1 but some go hang out at let's say place 2. Some stop hanging out at either place of the like. Places 1 and 2 are shrinking in population. Some people try both but quit. Neither place is doing what it is there to do; they are both failing at their missions. My vote is throw 'em together. Put the people together in a new place and mix it all up. But then we are back where we started. So what's the issue??

Picture this as a Scientific Study. The variables- places, leaders
                                                  The constant- the People
so if there is still an issue, and everything has changed but the people, that means the problem is with the.... yeah you got it people. just a scientific observation. =]

Locked out

It is amazing what you can learn about your self in the most unexpected circumstances. I forgot my keys this morning. There was someone there to let me in the building but now I cannot get in my room and my roommates are gone. I'm to prideful to look for an RA to let me in and I'd like to let as few people know as possible (aside from the roommate that comes to let me in). All because I don't want to look stupid for forgetting my keys?? really... yep.
